School is letting out and summer is right around the corner! What better way to celebrate the start of the warmer season then with First Friday June? Come visit downtown businesses and sites from 5-9 p.m., on June 7. Here are five things you won’t want to miss this month:
1.) Entertainment in Continental Square
Kick-off the night with a variety of different performances and activities in Continental Square. Logos Academy, Mother Dimension, Line dancing, Screaminmelinas and Chris Scheler will be taking the stage. Come experience the-fun-filled square from 5-8 p.m.
2.) “Fly” into HIVE artspace
“The Great Big Bug Show” is back! This exhibit is sure to leave you with a creepy crawly feeling. From flying and buzzing, to stinging and fluttering, “The Great Big Bug Show” is fun for all ages. Between 5-9 p.m., come see what all the buzz is about in the Royal Square District.
3.) Campfire Goodies with the York County History Center
Celebrate Father’s Day a little early with beer tasting and s’mores making at the York County History Center. From 6-9 p.m., stop over with your favorite guy and enjoy a night learning about York County’s past. With artifacts from over 300 years ago, there’s so much to learn about.
4.) Photography and Art Display at Gallery at 227
Analog photos made by Jason Konopinski is a display through photography that captures life and culture of public spaces. “Falling Through the Lens” is being displayed between 5-9 p.m. at the Gallery at 227. Come check out Jason’s beautiful work that shows everyday moments as they’re captured forever.
5.) Frozen Treats at Collusion Tap Works in the Royal Square District
Wrap up your fun evening with a special Collusion Tap Works and Perrydell collab. From 4- 9 p.m., the Perrydell ice cream truck will be open with all of your favorite flavors. The debut of Perrydell and Collusion beer float and Strawberries & Cream FROYO Double IPA is a perfect treat for all the adults!
