York Ecumenical Society Festival of Lessons & Carols

The York Ecumenical Choral Society is presenting its annual Festival of Lessons and Carols on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. The Choral Society was founded by Dr. Gene Paul Strayer nineteen years ago to promote fine choral works from the Protestant, Western Catholic and Eastern Orthodox traditions. The service is patterned after the Festival of Lessons and Carols started by Kings College in England. The Choral Society is directed by Rodney Barnett who is the Director of Music of St. John Episcopal, York. The organist for the Festival will be Mark Mummert, Minister of Music of Zion Lutheran, York. St. John is located at 140 N. Beaver St. in downtown York.
