Small businesses across the nation will be celebrated for the impact and significance they provide to their communities during National Small Business Week this May.
This year, National Small Business Week runs from May 1 – 7, with the theme “Dream Big, Start Small.” Much like Small Business Saturday every November, this event shines a spotlight on local businesses like the ones here in downtown York.
Celebrate National Small Business Week in downtown York by visiting our downtown districts: the Market District, the WeCo neighborhood and Royal Square District, to say hello to and support our downtown business owners.
More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and small businesses create about two out of every three new jobs in the United States each year.
As part of National Small Business Week, Downtown Inc takes the opportunity to highlight the significance that these businesses and their owners and employees have on our downtown community.
Our small business owners in downtown York create rich, diverse and enticing Main Streets and city blocks. Whether you’re strolling through Penn Farmers Market in WeCo or dining al fresco at Tutoni’s on North George Street, you know that it’s the small businesses in downtown York that give our town our unique character.
By supporting local businesses, you help to support the community you live in. For every $100 that you spend at a small business, $45 stays locally here in our town.
To our downtown business owners, thank you. To our community members who support our downtown businesses during National Small Business Week and every week of the year, thank you.
