EVERYONE is invited to attend First Friday in Downtown York presented by WellSpan Health!

First Friday is a celebration of Downtown shops, restaurants, cultural venues, and nightlife hotspots. From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., downtown shops and restaurants host special events, offer refreshments and promotions, and sponsor live entertainment.

Downtown Inc also extends a special thank you to the Cultural Alliance of York County for its generous support of arts and cultural entertainment during First Friday.

York County Food Bank to Stuff the Truck
York County Food Bank is proud to partner with Downtown Inc for a “Stuff the Truck” food drive on First Friday, November 2. In celebration of Thanksgiving, let’s feed our hungry neighbors! Please help us to “Stuff the Truck.” The York County Food Bank will have a donation truck in the square in Downtown York during First Friday from 5-9 p.m. Let’s “Stuff the Truck” with: canned turkey, tuna, chicken, ham, salmon, canned pumpkin, canned cranberry sauce, flavored rice, pasta sides, instant mashed potatoes, stuffing mix, canned gravy, candied yams, canned corn, green beans, canned fruit, mixed nuts, bread mixes, boxed cereals, cookie packs, brownie and cake mixes, instant pudding and non-refrigerated desserts. With a donation of three or more food items, you will receive a 20 percent discount to participating downtown restaurants.

Hilda from Turkey Hill will also make an appearance!

First Friday Latino November
EVERYONE is invited to attend First Friday Latino, a monthly celebration of the strong Latino community in Downtown York, and beyond. This FREE celebration is hosted at a new location each month. Celebrate fall with Creative York! Join us to make a beautiful fall relief art piece using leaves, aluminum foil and stains to add color to your own unique piece to take home. Learn how texture can be used in your artwork to create drama. You can also view our two current exhibits: “Rendezvous” featuring three very different styles of work by regional artists Andrea Biller Collins, Leslie Jones and Josh Weber in the Kerlin Gallery; and "Brides Revisited" and installation by Baltimore Artist Sanzi Kermes in The Project Space Gallery. Appell Center for the Performing Arts (50 N. George St.)
Join us at 6:30 p.m. for “How to Train Your Dragon,” our first official FREE First Friday Family Film at the newly renovated Capitol Theatre! A hapless young Viking who aspires to hunt dragons becomes the unlikely friend of a young dragon himself, and learns there may be more to the creatures than he assumed. Snacks and refreshments available. The FREE First Friday Family Film is sponsored by OSS Health.

Aperitif Hour at the TT Bar, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., where drinks are on you and small bites are on us. The King George Club is open to the public for First Fridays, and we will have music from the Maria Reyes Trio, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. From 9:30 p.m. to midnight our TT Bar will turn into the Supper Club, where we will have DJ Cashmire spinning live music. And you'll be able to dance the night away with our $5 house punch all night long.

Warehaus will host the Canvas York Art Exhibition to showcase the artwork of students in the York City school districts. The community is invited to join us and view the artwork from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. during First Friday.

The Festival of Trees is back again this year! Join us for the Opening Night of our third Annual Festival of Trees from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and delight in “image”-themed decorated trees displayed throughout the museum. Also, tour our NEW 1850s photo gallery and daguerreotype studio. The Festival of Trees will be open for viewing on Wednesdays and Saturdays in November and December from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on First Friday, December 7, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Call 717-650-1998 for more information.
