FIRST FRIDAY ACTIVITIES IN WECO

Gallery at 227 (227 W. Market St.)
Gallery @227 will be closed during First Friday, July. The opening reception for Ophelia Chambliss's exhibit EPHEMERA - STUFF I DO NOT DO ANYMORE will be on Friday, July 12th from 5-9 p.m. This will be a collection of never or seldom seen work, along with a number of sketches that never made it to the canvas. Also featured are pieces of the detailed work Ophelia does not do anymore because of an injury to her right hand which left her with little or no use of that hand for 7 years. During that time she painted left handed, which revealed a completely different style. The show will feature work demonstrating the progression from her work done with her right hand, transitioning to her left hand, and then the transition back to using her right hand. The style of her work changed with each transition which can be seen in her work. Join her for an Artist's Talk on Friday 7/12 at 7 p.m. as she walks us through the fascinating evolution of her work.
