Downtown Inc announces that Silas Chamberlin has started his position as the new CEO of Downtown Inc as of Monday, October 17. Downtown Inc also announces that Timothy Miller has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Meagan Feeser has been named Chief Marketing and Development Officer (CMDO), as the organization moves forward with its new mission and vision.

Downtown Inc Mission: To drive, enhance and encourage investment in Downtown York.

Downtown Inc Vision: Through leadership and community collaboration, we will drive York’s prosperity and be a national model for successful downtown organizations.

Originally from York County and a 2002 Northeastern High School graduate, Silas Chamberlin most recently served as executive director of the Schuylkill River National Heritage Area in Pottstown, PA. He also served as the regional advisor for the PA Department of Conservation & Natural Resources in Lehighton, PA. He holds a PhD in American Environmental History from Lehigh University and has recently published a book, “On the Trail: A History of American Hiking.”

Chamberlin will be the leader of all aspects of the organization’s mission, leading the charge in enhancing and encouraging investment in York’s Central Business District. Chamberlin's core responsibilities include: organizational leadership, community relations, fundraising and economic development.

One-on-one interviews with Chamberlin are available to be scheduled the week of November 14, following his impending paternity leave as he welcomes the birth of his second child.

As COO, Timothy Miller will support the organization’s efforts with community partners and mission-similar entities, organizational strategy and community positioning. Miller oversees the enhancement of all Downtown public spaces including the Heritage Rail Trail, parks and Codorus Creek, implementing the objectives of the Downtown Inc Public Safety committee, working with property owners and developers to enhance facades and public areas, the installation of street amenities such as public art and banners and comprehensive improvements to the Central Business District physical environment.

Previously, Miller served as Deputy Director and Project Administrator at Downtown Inc, overseeing the projects and programs relating to the Moving Plans into Action initiative. Moving Plans into Action is a collaborative approach to achieving long-held community goals in the heart of York’s downtown.

As CMDO, Meagan Feeser is responsible for all Downtown branding and messaging and will oversee marketing and communications for the organization; working with leadership in charting the organization’s course in fund development; and planning and assuring implementation of strategies to develop donors and contributions to invest in the work of the organization.

Feeser manages Downtown Inc events including First Fridays, Go Green in the City presented by White Rose Credit Union, Sweetest Pint, Boutique Week, the Masquerade Ball powered by Shipley Energy, Downtown Updates and the Downtown First Awards.  In addition, Feeser is also the editor of Downtown York Magazine, the triannual Downtown Destination Guide.
