New Public Art Installed on W. Market St

(York, PA)--Please join us outside of 35 West Market Street (Baron Von Schwein) on Thursday, September 15th, at 1:00 PM as we celebrate the next phase of public art installations in Downtown York.

This Phase IV installation was funded by the York County Community Foundation and through contributions by West Market Street merchants. A total of three pieces have been installed on the unit block of West Market St.

Local artist Sean Doll created two pieces of functional art:  a beautiful wooden bench which now sits in front of Clay Path Studio and a matching trash can across the street.  Local artist Bob Machovec added a functional and colorful flower planter, now situated in front of My Girlfriend’s Wardrobe.

Downtown Inc works to revitalize and foster reinvestment in downtown York.  Its mission is to facilitate collaboration, advocacy, and promotion of downtown initiatives to improve the economic growth, enhance the physical appearance, and increase foot traffic throughout the downtown district, and communicate to the community at large the positive activities taking place in downtown York.
