The Downtown Inc Board of Directors announces today that they have selected Silas Chamberlin as CEO of Downtown Inc, effective October 17, 2016.
Originally from York and a 2002 Northeastern High School graduate, Chamberlin most recently served as executive director of the Schuylkill River National Heritage Area in Pottstown, PA. He also served as the regional advisor for the PA Department of Conservation & Natural Resources in Lehighton, PA. He holds a PhD in American Environmental History from Lehigh University and has recently published a book, “On the Trail: A History of American Hiking.”

In doing so, we aim to be a national model for community success. As we look to our plans for the future, we selected Silas as our leader based on his proven track record in attracting funding sources, collaborating with community stakeholders, leading teams and conveying a vision. We are excited to have him lead Downtown Inc into the next chapter of the organization’s mission to drive, enhance and encourage investment in Downtown,” says Downtown Inc Board Chair, Krista Darr.
