Downtown Inc is pleased to announce new additions to their Board of Directors: Darryl Jones, Campus Vice President at HACC York Campus; Brian P. Strong, personal injury and wrongful death lawyer at Katherman, Briggs and Greenberg; Julian Tolbert, Chief Operating Officer at York Container.
With a PhD from Union Institute in Higher Education Leadership and a M.Ed. from Howard University in Counseling and Student Development, Darryl Jones is responsible for proactively directing a major division with college-wide impact. He is responsible for setting the tone, climate and vision for the college; strategic planning; fundraising; and leadership.
A native of York County, Brian Strong is a personal injury and wrongful death lawyer with KBG. A graduate of the Mount Saint Mary’s University and the University of Baltimore School of Law, Brian is an active member of the Pennsylvania, Maryland and York County Bar Associations and is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, Maryland, the Federal Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and before the Supreme Court of the United States. He is the former President of the York Little League. He has been a Scout Leader, Baseball Coach, Basketball Coach, served on the Boards of The York County Farm and Natural Land Trust, The 4th District Congressional Internship Program and The YMCA of York and York County.
Following a 28-year career in the United States Air Force, Julian “Jules” Tolbert relocated to wife Jolene’s hometown of York, Pennsylvania, to join the executive leadership of York Container Company. In addition to moving closer to family, the Tolbert family’s major objective was to trade service to the nation to service to a community. Julian is the primary investor in Herb and Herd, a Tutoni’s venture at Central Market; a Downtown York Rotary Member; and the Vice President of New Birth of Freedom Council, Boy Scouts of America.
It is the mission of Downtown Inc to drive, enhance, and encourage investment in Downtown York.
