FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
YORK, PA – Downtown Inc will join Gift Horse Brewing Company at 5 p.m., Friday, September 7, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony welcoming the newest craft brewery to Downtown York.
Located at 117 N. George St., Gift Horse is in the heart of Downtown York and just a short walk from attractions such as Central Market and the Appell Center for the Performing Arts.
With Gift Horse’s arrival, Downtown York now features five different craft brewery destinations in just 26 square blocks. A sixth brewery, Old Forge Brewing Company, is on the way.
Gift Horse has already attracted crowds during a soft opening. It’s expected to be a popular stop during September’s First Friday celebrations, which coincide with the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“When the opportunity to launch Gift Horse Brewing Company arose our first and only choice was Downtown York,” said Jason Snyder, co-owner of Gift Horse. “We all have roots that are firmly planted here and we wanted to be a part of the community and its ever-evolving scene.”
Though it just opened its doors downtown, Gift Horse Brewing Company has already built a following. The brewery has won awards at several local festivals and has participated in First Fridays, poured beer at birthday parties and donated brews to local charities.
Gift Horse will be open 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Wednesday; 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday; 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Downtown Inc invites media and the public to the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“Downtown York is quickly becoming a craft beer destination – not to mention a dining and entertainment hub – and we’re thrilled that Gift Horse will be part of that,” Downtown Inc CEO Silas Chamberlin said. “We can’t think of a better way to kick off September’s First Friday than by welcoming a new business to Downtown York.”
